“Mary-Kate” is a digital sewing guide with pattern for women.

The Mary-Kate, also known as MK for short, is the perfect transitional jacket for any weather. You can sew it with light, thick or no lining at all. MK has dropped shoulders, is comfortable, has an oversized cut and is your stylish companion for every season. You can choose between patch pockets and welt pockets and between a collar and a hood. There is also a breast pocket with a zip, a chin guard and a zip placket. Elastic bands are inserted into the arm and hem. The optional divisions make the MK ideal for colour blocking.

material

The MK is just as suitable for loose, light linen fabrics as it is for corduroy or quilted fabrics. Depending on whether you want to sew the Mary-Kate as a spring, autumn or winter jacket, different outer and inner fabric combinations are suitable.

The jacket is designed for woven fabrics; if you use knitwear, I recommend stabilizing the edges with seam tape. Suitable outer fabrics include corduroy, teddy, quilted, rain jacket fabric, dry oilskin, boiled wool, canvas, coat fabric, softshell, etc. Suitable lining fabrics include fleece, lining taffeta, teddy, quilted, cotton satin, sweat, etc. It is also very important to consider the power of your sewing machine, because depending on the model, it may not be possible to sew the jacket with very thick inner and outer fabrics.

In addition, you will need approx. 50 cm of Vlieseline H180, a divisible zipper (max. 75 cm), 5 cm high elastic band (max. 140 cm) for the waistband, 3 cm high elastic band (max. 50 cm) for the wrist, double-sided textile adhesive tape, possibly some seam tape and, depending on the variant, 4 anorak snap fasteners, an endless zipper (20 cm) and optionally 20 cm Vlieseline H630 for the collar.

pattern sheet & instructions

The e-book contains the pattern in sizes 32 - 52 (BU 77 cm - 124 cm, HU 86 cm - 131 cm) on A4, A0 (once with and once without seam and hem allowance included) and as a real projector file with mirrored pattern pieces and illustrated instructions.

The following cutting sheets are available:

Die Mary-Kate ist eine geniale Jacke. Je nach Stoff und Futterstoff kann es eine Übergangsjacke sein oder auch eine Winterjacke. Die Mary-Kate kann auch ungefüttert genäht werden. Die Fotoanleitung für dieses größere Projekt ist wie immer Step-by -Step und wirklich sehr gut nachzunähen. Es hat viel Spaß gemacht, diese Jacke zu nähen und sie wird mich bestimmt oft begleiten.
